Dillon Bindery Stitching Services
Saddle stitching or saddle stapling is common for small booklets, calendars, pocket-size address books, and some magazines. Several sheets of paper are folded (the fold becomes the spine of the booklet) and two or more staples are placed in the fold.
A method of securing the leaves or sections of a book with wire staples, from front to back of the entire thickness of the text block. Side stitching is one of the strongest forms of construction and is frequently used in binding textbooks; it is also a common method of binding periodical issues made up of leaves or more than one section, and which, therefore, cannot be saddle stitched.
A method of saddle stitching whereby the stitch is formed into a semi-circular loop that sticks out beyond the spine of the publication. These loops slip over the rings of a three-ring binder, serving as an alternative to hole punching.
